What an incredible day for Zen Bushido Kan Karate-Do!

This weekend, 27 ZBK athletes stepped onto the competition floor with courage, determination, and the fighting spirit that represents our dojo so well. Alongside them were 6 dedicated coaches, encouraging, guiding, and supporting every step of the way. Together, our team brought home an amazing 38 medals—a testament to the countless hours of hard work, discipline, and perseverance our students put in every week.

But while we're proud of every medal earned, what makes us even prouder is something that can't be placed around your neck. We're proud of the students who competed for the very first time, faced their nerves, and stepped onto the floor anyway. We're proud of the students who didn't get the results they hoped for but never stopped trying. We're proud of the athletes who listened to coaching, made adjustments, encouraged their teammates, and represented ZBK with humility, respect, and integrity.

Karate isn't measured by trophies alone. It's measured by the courage to step forward, the resilience to learn from setbacks, and the determination to come back stronger than before. Every tournament—whether you leave with gold, silver, bronze, or simply experience—is another step forward on your journey.

To our medalists, congratulations on your accomplishments.
To those who struggled or competed for the first time, we're just as proud of you. Every great karateka has experienced both victory and defeat. What matters is that you continue to train, continue to learn, and continue to grow.

Thank you to our families, volunteers, and coaches for your unwavering support throughout the day. Your encouragement makes experiences like these possible.

Next tournament-Fiestas September 13th
🥋 ZBK Tournament Announcement – Fiestas International Karate Championship 🥋

Zen Bushido Kan Karate-Do is excited to announce that we will be participating in the Fiestas 53rd Annual Invitational International Karate Championship!

This long-standing international tournament brings together competitors from across the United States and several Latin American countries, providing an excellent opportunity for our students to challenge themselves, gain valuable experience, and represent ZBK with pride.

📅 Tournament Date: Sunday, September 13, 2026
📍 Location: South Gate Sports Center
9520 Hildreth Avenue
South Gate, CA 90280

⏰ Check-In: 8:00 AM
🥋 Competition Begins: 9:30 AM

Whether this is your first tournament or your fiftieth, every competition is an opportunity to learn, grow, and demonstrate the discipline, respect, and perseverance that define our dojo.

As always, participation is optional, but we strongly encourage students who are interested in competition to take advantage of this experience. Tournaments are one of the best ways to build confidence, sharpen your karate, and create lasting memories with your teammates.

Important Announcement – ZBK Karate Long Beach Dojo

📣 ZBK Long Beach Families — Our New Location & Updated Class Schedule Are Official!

We are excited to announce that beginning June 1st, ZBK Long Beach will officially be moving to our new home at:

Recreation Park Social Hall
4900 E 7th St
Long Beach, CA 90804

🥋 Beginner Class (First Class)
Wednesdays & Fridays
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

🥋 Intermediate / Advanced / Adult Class (Second Class)
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

These changes officially take effect June 1st.

Please note:
• There will NOT be Beginner Class on Monday, June 1st. Beginner classes will resume Wednesday, June 3rd at the new location.
• Second Class WILL meet on Monday, June 1st at the new location during regular class hours.

Registration has been updated to reflect all schedule and location changes and is now officially open. Please register as soon as possible to secure your student’s spot.

The La Mirada dojo will NOT be impacted by these changes and will continue operating as normal.
